This pilot project aims to explore the use of artificial intelligence for searching data on the Fedlex website.
We welcome and greatly value your feedback, whether positive or negative, as it helps us to continuously improve this service.
The current search on Fedlex is a keyword search. It uses specific terms, called "keywords," to find information on a given topic. It does not understand the meaning of words.
"AI search" is a search technique that does not simply find results based on exact words, but attempts to understand the meaning or intent of the user's query.
The prompt is the instruction, question, keyword, or phrase you enter into the search engine.
Example question: "What is the deadline for appealing a criminal order?"
It does not answer the question directly, but helps to find the most relevant federal legal sources. It may not consider certain legal nuances and does not take into account the links between different articles.
During the pilot phase, the semantic index only covers the texts of the Classified Compilation. Each article is accompanied by a link to the official version of the text.
Other collections may be added after validation, based on your feedback.
Fedlex's servers and database are located exclusively in Switzerland.
As part of the pilot project, data is managed by Omnilex, a Swiss company.
We monitor the use of the platform to improve the service.
